Victoria Georges lives in the town of Los Ellies, New Jersey, in 1697, where there is complete religious toleration and freedom, including the allowing of witchcraft to be practiced, though there are many rules about witches, of which the witches in the Georges family are known for breaking. After Victoria's sister is put on trial for the use of black magic, Victoria believes the trial to be a set up and must prove her sister's innocence, before a prophecy comes true about the two of them.
