-brings in the paddles and tries to revive the topic-

For a while there i was listening to a lot of alternative. Paramore and shinedown and things like that, but it's just recently that i've gotten back into classic rock [There's just something about playing Stairway to Heaven at 3 in the morning that makes everything feel right with the world. My taste has also broadened a little bit into what most people would call 'Metalcore'. It's a lot of fast paced, screamy type stuff, but i can't help but feel a certain appeal to it.

Either way, the most recent album i got that blew me away was Death Magnetic, by the gods of rock themselves, Metallica. It's no Master of Puppets, believe me, but it's better than anything they've done in the last ten years, and i highly recommend it for anyone that used to like Metallica and is even remotely interested.

I heard Death Magnetic and thought it was really good. I should probably listen to it again!

I ran right out to buy the new Oasis CD and was not surprised when it sucked, but was rather confused when I found they still had Zack Starkey (the son of Beatle Ringo Starr) with the band. Two songs are fabulous, The Shock of the Lightning and I';m Outta Time but as for the rest, as Swan said, "What were they thinking?"

I really love Gavin Rossdale's "Love Remains the Same."  I told a guy in second life I didnt know that gavin had a solo career and he said "he was in a band?" LOL  yikes I said "Well, yeah, but he was more famous for being hot."

Well, i guess it's time to shock the life into this subject again.

We Are The Fallen: Tear The World Down
This album is seriously good. It's Evanescence without Amy lee. So it's Ben Moody, Rocky Gray, John Lecompt, and a couple others, in addition to Carly Smithson, who was on American Idol, but has proven she has some serious Rock pipes. The band originally formed as Fallen, but they didn't want the flack from Evanescence, so they changed their name and put out their first album a couple months ago. And honestly, it's Amazing. It definitely sounds like Evanescence, but it's got darker tones, and Carly's voice is a hell of a lot stronger than Amy lee's ever was.

now.. . . normally i don't do this.. but..

Hmmm so evanesence is broken up now? And I'll have to listen to that, I've been a fan of them. And has anyone heard of Paper Tongues? If not check them out, they're pretty good.

Well, technically, 'Evanescence' is still there, but really it's just Amy Lee with a backing band. She drove out all of the original members of the band, and things really went down hill when she married her therapist. She's kinda gone off the deep end, and if you ask me, it shows because their last album, The Open Door, was garbage.
